PEER SUPPORT GROUPS

Overview

Facilitated peer groups offering connection, understanding, and shared experience for people navigating grief. We have groups for adults and school based groups.

Who It's For

Children, teens, adults, and families who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

What to Expect:

  • Small, supportive groups of 6-10 participants

  • Registration required (not a drop-in group)

  • 8 weeks in length

  • Trained facilitators

  • Education about grief and loss

  • Creative, reflective, and discussion-based activities

  • No pressure to share

Adult Groups

  • Supportive groups for adults navigating personal loss, parenting through grief, or supporting grieving family members.

  • Loss specific groups

    • Child Loss

    • Suicide Loss

    • General Bereavement

    • Drug Related Loss

    • Held online or in-person

  • Held on site at schools for 8 weeks.

  • Common Ground works with school staff identify students who have experienced loss

  • Activity-based, age-appropriate groups that help children and teens express feelings, understand grief, and feel less alone in age-appropriate ways. 

  • A space where participants can share openly, connect with others, and build coping skills in a supportive environment.
