-
Everyone grieves differently

Our story
Common Ground” is a phrase that reflects what we believe at our core. Grief is a part of every human experience and is a natural response to loss. It can be painful and disorienting and can often feel lonely. It also opens the door to something powerful: shared understanding and support.
Common Ground Grief is made up of a collection of people from a wide variety of backgrounds and grief experiences that all believe strongly that no one needs to grieve alone.
Many of the people who serve at Common Ground Grief have been engaged in grief support work for decades, and Common Ground Grief was officially started in 2025 in response to a need we saw for accessible, relational grief support in the communities we serve. With a strong desire to be connected to the communities we serve, we have chosen to run our operations out of community spaces as well as partner with existing community organizations. When we launched in 2025, we started out of a neighborhood coffee shop called Wrigley Coffee in Long Beach, California.
As we continue to look for communities where grief support is needed, we identified that Orange County, CA has a great need for community based grief support. In 2026, we expanded our grief support services with a second location in a shared community workspace called FLDWRK with an adjacent coffee shop, Buenas Coffee, in Orange County, CA.
