Opportunities
1
Facilitating Adult Groups
Support adults as they take their first steps toward healing after loss. At Common Ground, volunteer group facilitators play a vital role in helping participants navigate grief and build a “new normal.” Each support group is led by dedicated volunteers who receive comprehensive training and ongoing guidance from our experienced Program Staff.
2
Facilitating Children/Teen Groups
Walk alongside children and teens as they begin to navigate life after loss. Volunteer facilitators are essential in creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can express their grief, build resilience, and begin healing. Each group is led by caring adults who are equipped with specialized training and supported by our Program Staff.
3
Family Day Camp Retreat
Join us in creating a day of connection, healing, and hope for children, teens, and adults who are grieving. Our camp depends on the support of compassionate volunteers who help make this experience meaningful and smooth for everyone involved.

Healing Circle Facilitators
Guide small groups of children, teens, or adults through reflective and supportive conversations during camp. Healing Circle Facilitators are present for the full day and must attend a required training session beforehand. These volunteers play a central role in helping participants express their grief and feel seen.

Floaters
Be the extra hands and heart that help camp run smoothly. Floaters step in wherever needed. Tasks include assisting with setting up activities, logistics, loading and unloading supplies, and ensuring campers feel supported throughout the day. Flexibility and a team-first attitude make a big impact in this role.

Camp Photographer/Videographer
Help us capture the special moments that define the camp experience. The Photographer/Videographer documents meaningful interactions and joyful memories to be shared with families, volunteers, and the wider community.

Fundraising Support
Help make camp a great experience by raising funds that directly support meals, supplies, and activities for families. Fundraisers reach out to their community, friends, local businesses, etc to invite donations. Whether you host a small event, start a personal fundraising page, or make meaningful asks - every contribution helps.

Internships
Common Ground offers internship opportunities for college students who are interested in supporting individuals and families who are grieving. We partner with both local and distance-learning colleges to provide internships for students enrolled in Community Psychology, Psychology (BA), Social Work (BASW), and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs.
